DOCTOR
WHO
Wish You Were Here by Steve Parkhouse
This is both macabre and funny and I loved it!
This is set after The Trial Of A Timelord and before the Doctor first meets Mel, so the sixth Doctor is on his own. This time he has managed to do the impossible and arrive on a planet with a colour scheme even gaudier and more tasteless than his own costume. His reason for visiting this planet is that popular Doctor Who cliché - he's supposedly on holiday, but he's actually there to investigate the planet's seedier side.
Stylistically and atmospherically, the story owes more to Steve Parkhouse' Marvel comic strips than to televised Doctor Who, but since I regard Voyager as the greatest Doctor Who comic strip ever drawn, that's hardly a complaint.
